Entering the Castle

After attending Caroline Myss's workshop I am full of enthusiasm and excitements about the next chapter of my life!
This is a wonderful book and process that I am entering and I invite you to join me in this process. If you dare?
Please let me know how  you are doing and if you have read this wonderful book.

Belief and being true to your self!

Be true to your self!

Be true to your Creativity! Since 1991 I made a discussion not to take a job that did not involve some form of creativity. This was not easy, in making a commitment to my self about my creativity it was so important to the development of my work on a personal level. I decided not to buy into the idea that if you are an artist, you will never make money. Some of the jobs I took were drawing the insides of eclectic boxes on the side of the motor way which filled the criteria that I had set out for myself. Also I took another job working with Ministry of Defense in England as a water color artist, tinting old prints that were being reprinted. It is not very easy in this world today, to make this kind of pledge, in this way, but if you do and you decide to work hard at it, you can have such fun.

Be true to your self and make the decision to be creative.

I have worked in many different jobs and some were less creative than others but if you keep up the practice of drawing at least one to two drawing or painting every day then you will develop and grow in skill and techniques.

So I encourage you to keep plodding along and try to keep drawing.

One of the keys to this is in the belief!

If you bereave you will be poor as many artists are that I suggest that in that belief you will live that out.

In the photo I plaster this room and it was very creative, I am open to my creative process.

All the best, Suzie

Creativity is natural!

The creative process is natural and all you have to do is get out of the way!
Sometimes  we think if we clean up our studios or sharpen  all  our pencils that we will be able to work better
This is  just crazy making, it take allot of effort not to let the process flow naturally.
Try just scribbling or painting some washes. In doing this have no aim or end in mind and try about 10 pages of  washes or drawings this is sure to get the process flowing.
Keep the brush moving and don't stop,  keep moving and stop thinking, it is important to get out of the way!
All the best,
Suzie :O)/

Are you awake!

Are you awake?  I have found,  if i am present in the moment,  i feel alive; seeing everything that is around me.
Some times in life we are sleep walking and we are unaware of what is happening all around us.
After climbing a mountain this past week. I felt the cold breeze on my face, I saw the sun  rise, I  heard the small birds call, and i knew that I  was awake.

The Kitchen Table

It is so wonderful to get your paints out and set them out on the kitchen table!
If you leave them out and give your self time to keep going back to what you were doing,
you could have so much fun! I may seem a bit messy but creativity is about being messy.
As the winter closes in set a place in your favorite room and leave out your paint and see what happens.
